the thing about han sooyoung is she actually likes kim dokja so much its embarrassing. hes like her favourite guy. she stays up late writing just so he can have something to read in the morning. she gives him her candy when he’s feeling upset because she hates seeing him sad. he walks into a room and she has to catch herself to make sure she doesnt start smiling too obviously. and all of this is of course perfectly normal behaviour between two people who are close but han sooyoung is soooo embarrassed of it. shes like yeah he’s my favourite guy on earth. he’s ugly and lame and has shit taste in novels and we havent even spent that much time together but i miss him when he’s not in the room. tch. WHATEVER. if anyone references my feelings for him im gonna start killing the hostages

Can’t stop thinking about this…

You know, we don’t talk about the fact that Yoo Joonghyuk actually has another Kim Dokja-related reason to hate his other selves, and this one is more grounded. I think the pieces get put together in a frustrating way when Yoo Joonghyuk learns that Kim Dokja knows about his future regressions and such and that Kim Dokja’s schemes are based off of them. That means the bullshit Kim Dokja does was heavily influenced by future Yoo Joonghyuks.

Something we don’t remember is that 3rd turn Yoo Joonghyuk is “still human”. He’s empathetic, and he does genuinely care about people and humanity and his team Which means he can see for himself through Kim Dokja how his future selves became a mess. He can put together the pieces of what Kim Dokja meant in his conversation with Yoo Joonghyuk on the rooftop. We know this, because this scene was critical for Yoo Joonghyuk’s character arc. It’s not just about not regressing, but the fact that Kim Dokja’s wish is for Yoo Joonghyuk to maintain that humanity.

So Yoo Joonghyuk’s anger at his future selves teaching Kim Dokja that the way forward was to continually hurt his companions for the sake of the “greater good” would dig a lot more at this still human (read: empathetic and not broken yet) Yoo Joonghyuk who values his companions as more than just a means to the end.

Every Yoo Joonghyuk is arrogant. It’s a core character trait for them. So Yoo Joonghyuk, who is aware of just how many failures lay ahead of him, would of course be pissy with his future selves for not only causing harm to them all, but teaching Kim Dokja the bullshit that he does.

It’s not their fault anymore than Yoo Joonghyuk’s himself, but the point still stands. It’s on sight.

This is just basic observation but, I love how modern japan is depicted in a very standard anime color scheme, the backgrounds and buildings are also very typical anime style

and then when you get to NRC!!! the BURST of COLORSSS ughhh!!! I love how the night scene has purple undertones, given that it’s the entrance ceremony and the secondary colors of the ceremonial robes is purple and gold.

like. comparing the above shots of yuuken to these ones. hes so ourpole, I do also love how exasperated he is when he’s stuck in twst, it’s been a while since i’ve read the Heartslabyul manga but i think he emotes a lot more in this trailer compared to the manga chapter equivalent.

and u can tell these backgrounds are very much trying to emulate the backgrounds in twst!! like look at how blocky the clouds are AGHSGHGHF but!! they also made it more detailed instead of making it just purely blocks/shapes like in the game, which tbh is a really good decision cus if the background art looked too similar to the games’, it’d clash too much with the characters imo

the key art of all the housewardens is also soooo sososo beautuful, and the color design of the anime has got to be my favorite part of it!!! bcs AOUGHHH I LOVEEEEE how nicely saturated everything is!! All the complimentary colors they gave on the HSB crew’s hair is also so neato I love how Deuce’s and Trey’s are very clearly inspired from their ingame chibi sprites. The blues in Ace’s and Caters hair is also sooo sososo delicious, the soft pink/purple on Riddle also suits him very nicely!

if i could!! express just 1 fear!! the trailer footage likely only contains episode one.. maybe we’ll get a second trailer with later episodes, but we’ll see. anyways!! i’m so excited for it!!!

in honor of my favourite scene in all of orv making it into the (free) webtoon, please remember u have to keep writing on the wall . u cant ever stop , even for a little bit. sometimes its hard to keep lifting ur arm to write and leaving ur side exposed, but u never know when someone will be looking up at that wall . never stop trying , never give up , it will always mean something .

It just cracks me up how disrepected Kim Dokja is for being so respected. Like, not just with the KimCom and the constellations that watch him. But, like, the scene where the Underworld was trying to hook him up with a partner while he’s the prince and the judges straight out insulting him off rip LOL

“Yoo Sangah is our offer, but frankly she’s too good for our prince.”

“I AM the prince. What is this rudeness?”

“It’s facts, your highness.”
