Helsinki residents have reported receiving text messages and phone calls offering non-existent times for coronavirus vaccinations, the City of Helsinki said in a press release on Monday.

"These are really unfortunate incidents and we have been in contact with the police about them," Chief Physician Timo Lukkarinen wrote in the release.

The statement also reminded residents that vaccinations are provided in accordance with national vaccination procedures.

"It is not possible to skip the queue and the vaccinations are free of charge for all Helsinki residents," Lukkarinen continued.

The City of Helsinki urges people to report any scam text messages or phone calls to the police.

Coronavirus vaccinations are given at centralised vaccination points in Helsinki, and a vaccination time can be booked online via the website koronarokotusaika.fi or by calling the number 09 310 46300.

There are currently no other means of booking an appointment for vaccination.
