The winner of Finland’s Contest for New Music UMK this year is Erika Vikman with her song ICH KOMME. The UMK25 winner was chosen by the votes of the Finnish people (75%) and points from the international jury (25%). Erika Vikman scored 430 points, and was chosen to represent Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel in May 2025.

Voting in Yle’s Contest for New Music UMK is changing this season, allowing the audience to start voting for their favorite as soon as the first UMK25 performance begins. The aim is to give even more music fans the opportunity to influence the selection of the UMK winner and Finland’s next Eurovision representative.

One Morning Left Will Not Continue in the Contest for New Music UMK
The group of contestants in Yle’s Contest for New Music UMK is shrinking by one: the band One Morning Left will no longer continue in the competition. Yle has excluded the band from the competition due to a contract violation. Yle and One Morning Left have discussed the matter and agree on the basis for the decision.

The seven acts for Yle’s 2025 Contest for New Music UMK were announced today in a live broadcast from Yle’s studios. The UMK25 show at Nokia Arena in Tampere on February 8, 2025 will include performances from NEEA RIVER, Nelli Matula, costee, VIIVI, One Morning Left, Goldielocks, and Erika Vikman.

Finland’s Contest for New Music UMK 2025: Presenting the hosts SANNI and Jasmin Beloued
The hosts for this season’s Contest for New Music UMK, Finland’s biggest music show, are artist SANNI and Yle Youth News journalist Jasmin Beloued. UMK25 artists will be announced on Wednesday 8 January 2025 in a live broadcast, which can be viewed internationally with English commentary via Yle Areena streaming service.
