Dead Finn Found in Khao Lak

A Finnish forensic team found at least one Finnish victim of the Asian tsunami on Monday in the devastated Thai resort of Khao Lak. YLE TV News reported that there could be even more Finnish bodies.

The team also found several other victims that they suspect were Finnish. They need to await the results of DNA tests to ascertain the victims' identity.

A team of 26 Finnish forensic experts has for the past few days been combing Khao Lak and another Thai resort, Krabi, for Finnish victims.

They expect their work to last for weeks to come.

Officials cannot say at this stage when the first coffins will arrive home. But they will be coming over a long period of time.

They believe that many of the dead will never be found.
