Police Tight-Lipped about Tsunami Victims

The National Bureau of Investigation will no longer release information about the bodies they are trying to identify until identities have been fully confirmed.

The announcement comes after information was released earlier this week about a body assumed to be Finnish. But the police said on Tuesday the body is not a Finnish national.

The bureau has now tightened its communication policy and is not willing to disclose information on whether further bodies have been successfully identified.

The forensic investigators are using dental records and DNA samples collected from relatives to identify the missing Finns and these will be compared to the victims' records. The team is hoping to have completed collecting most the information on the missing Finns by mid-January.
