Finland Third Most Expensive In EU

The latest consumer price level comparison by the EU's statistics office shows Finland to be the third most costly country in the European Union, behind Denmark and Ireland.

In 2008, price levels for consumer goods and services differed widely across member states. Denmark (141% of the EU average) had the highest price level, followed by Ireland (127%) and Finland (125%).

Prices for clothing in Finland are among the highest, as are the prices of foodstuffs, alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages, restaurant prices and hotel accommodations.

The least expensive EU countries for consumers are Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania and Poland.
