Sales of apartments have doubled since the beginning of this year.
Building of new flats came to a halt last August as demand evaporated. YIT says that its apartments began to sell again during the spring.
In the first three months of the year, YIT began work on less than 100 apartments. In the second quarter that shot up to more than 300. However that still remains low compared with past years. The company attributes the gradual recovery to low interest rates.
