IT services received the worst marks in the study. Finns' expectations from techincal providers were high, partially explaining the low scores. Pharmacists received the best marks.

Of Finnish businesses, the Handelsbanken bank rated best on customer satisfaction, while mobile network operator Sonera scored lowest.

There was good news for Finnish public service providers, with Finns giving the highest marks to public transport and education of citizens of any country in the survey.

Finland's most satisfied customers were found to live in Orimattila in the south of the country, while those least satisfied with goods and services lived in Suonenjoki, in North Savo.

The survey was conducted by Extended Performance Satisfaction Index (EPSI) and involved telephone interviews with more than one million people in 15 countries during 2010.
