Sex education organisation RFSU’s research shows that concern about sexually transmitted infections has declined in parallel with the decline in condom usage.
Of those polled, 32 percent used condoms as birth control, compared to 51 percent two years ago. Less than half of those polled used condoms to protect themselves against infection, when the corresponding figure from two years ago was 58 percent. Concern about catching a sexually transmitted disease has fallen from 18 percent to 12 percent.
60 percent of those that do not use contraception are aged over 50.
