Weather takes an autumn turn

Friday’s seasonally high temperatures have given way to more autumn-like weather conditions. However, temperatures will remain a little above average at around 15 degrees Celsius in the south but under ten degrees in the north over the next few days.

A high pressure area is moving eastwards. YLE meteorologist Matti Huutonen predicts several belts of rain over the coming days interspersed with clearer periods.

On Friday, record temperatures for the time of year were recorded in various parts of southern Finland. At Harabacka near Porvoo on the coast, the mercury topped 22.3 degrees Celsius in the afternoon.
