The negotiations affect all the company’s departments. Sandvik is basing the lay-off talks on a strategic shift aimed at streamlining the organisation.

Sandvik is an international high-technology company. The company’s mining and construction department is a part of Sandvik Group.

At the end of last year, the company employed some 15,500 people in 130 countries. In Finland, Sandvik has factories in the southern towns of Tampere, Turku, Lahti, Hollola and Vantaa.
