Lallukka’s lawyer, Hannu Kalkas, confirmed the positive test to YLE, but claimed there must be some other reason for the result. He emphasised that the investigation was still ongoing, and that Lallukka must now present his own explanation for the positive result to the Finnish Anti-Doping Agency.
The 32-year-old skier has demanded an explanation as to how and why his case was made public before investigations were completed, in contravention of the Anti-Doping agency’s own guidelines.
Helsingin Sanomat reports that Lallukka sent a letter to his sponsors ending any contracts that are currently in place following the test result.
