The paper says that the housing group paid him 42,000 euros in 2008 when he was its chair. Kaikkonen previously reported receiving 20,000 euros.

On Monday the Housing Finance and Development Centre of Finland, or ARA, criticised the foundation for shortcomings in its bookkeeping.

The state housing agency also said that the foundation’s political donations had been excessive. However, it does not plan to take any special action over the matter.

The group also gave generous campaign contributions to Kaikkonen as well as other Centre Party MPs including Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen and Jukka Vihriälä.

Kaikkonen resigned from the foundation in October.
