More Men Taking Paternity Tests without Partners’ Knowledge

Thousands of Finnish men are testing their paternity with foreign laboratories without the knowledge of their partners, writes Sunnuntaisuomalainen, the weekend supplement of a number of Finnish provincial newspapers.

Tests analysed in Finland require the consent of everyone involved.

For instance, the on-line company DNA24 has about 2,000 paternity tests done in Germany and Austria. The company says that the number of tests is growing.

Paternity tests conducted abroad primarily fulfil the curiosity of those who commission them. They have no legal standing under Finnish law.
