Slightly Warmer Temperatures Returning

Finland had a dose of autumn chill on Friday when daytime temperatures in some areas fell to 7 degrees Celsius. The outlook for the coming week is warmer: northern regions can expect temperatures of 10C-15C, with the thermometer rising back up close to 20C in the south.

"Up until next Friday, we'll see a high-pressure area that will keep the weather stable. It doesn't look like we'll have the kind of storms seen over the past few days. Again after Friday, the weekend weather will be more variable," forecasts YLE Meteorologist Marjo Hoikkanen.

The summer just past was a record hot one in Finland, but it is unlikely that unseasonably warm temperatures will return during the autumn months.

"For the time of the year, we will be having average temperatures," says Hoikkanen.
