Family Federation Donates 50 Maternity Clinic Visits in Katainen’s Honour
The Family Federation is drawing government’s attention to the importance of development aid financing by keeping Finance Minister Jyrki Katainen informed of symbolic gifts it's sending to developing countries. On Tuesday the federation sent Katainen a letter outlining the gifting of 50 maternity clinic visits for Malawian women.

The Family Federation wants the government to increase funds earmarked for development cooperation in the 2010-2013 period.
The federation and other organisations say they will continue to keep Katainen abreast of the ethical gifts they send to the developing world until budget framework discussions begin in March.
By gifting maternity clinic visits, the organisations say they're calling attention to the situation of maternal health in the world’s poorest countries.
