Two-thirds of Finns always print out their travel documents and other tickets on paper, finds a study by Itella. Findings also point to over 20 percent of people printing out their electronic documents, such as bank statements, pay slips and bills. Older people in particular like to have hard copies of these documents.
The study points to human behaviour working against a truly paperless existence. While people say they believe that curbing paper-based communication is crucial from the point of nature conservation, the majority of respondents said they would rather read paper advertisements than look at e-campaigns on computer screens.
Some 1,500 Finns over the age of 15 participated in the survey.
