A year ago, the level of satisfaction stood at 56%.
Most of those asked say the installation of a digital TV device has proceeded without difficulties. Only 17% reported difficulties compared to 24% a year ago. Problems centre on connecting televisions, video recorders, DVD’s and digi-boxes together.
Some 60% of those surveyed reported difficulties related to watching digital channels. A quarter reported problems with subtitles and picture quality while other said digital TV boxes often crashed.
Purchase Left to the Last Minute In households without suitable digital TV equipment, the survey showed a purchase would be made at the last minute before the shutdown of analogue services next summer. Elderly and single people have been the most reluctant to invest in digital TV equipment. Indications suggest these groups will have the most headaches with both the connection and application of digital devices. Pollster TNS Gallup sampled 1,000 persons in October for the survey commissioned by the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority. YLE24
