Traffic flows were disrupted until six o'clock Wednesday morning after a private car and a trailer carrying dangerous chemicals collided on the Murhasaari bridge Tuesday. About 5 cubic metres of sodium hydrogen sulfide leaked out of the trailer. Officials say the substance has not contaminated the water table. Nevertheless, officials say residents who live within a half-kilometre from the accident site should not use the water for bathing or drinking. No boating or other restrictions on movement have been made. Sodium hydrogen sulfide can cause respiratory and eye problems. Highway 11 in Nokia was re-opened Wednesday morning following the accident. The driver of the car was killed in the collision, and the driver of the trailer was taken to hospital. YLE
