Speaking to a meeting of the Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions SAK, Korhonen says that the state's passivity is a sign that the government has given up its policies when it comes to companies in which it owns shares.
In particular, he pointed to the state's decision not to get involved in Stora Enso's plans to shut down two pulp and paper product mills, which will result in hundreds of job losses.
"This trend is unique, and shows that the conservative government has intentionally ignored workers and regional politics in its ownership policy," he told the SAK meeting.
