Mother of Marimekko honoured
The Mint of Finland is issuing a commemorative coin for Armi Ratia, the founder of Finnish textile giant Marimekko.
Image: Suomen RahapajaThe coin features a likeness of Armi Ratia and Marimekko’s trademark unikko poppy flower designed by Maija Isola.
The Mint says the coin, to be issued on June 4, is a celebration of Ratia’s life work.
Forty thousand Armi Ratia 10-euro coins are being produced.
