Authorities expect a delay in the commissioning of the motorway between Lohja and Muurla in southwest Finland. In an interview on Radio Turku, Project Manager Juha Sillanpää confirmed that wireless technology to be used in traffic signals on the road way were still being worked out.
Sillanpää was also not certain whether those issues would be resolved by the projected date for commissioning of the new roadway, November 15th.
The Finnish Road Administration will make a decision on a possible new opening date time next Tuesday.
The project manager said the telematic contractors are working feverishly and added that it was also possible that the roadway would open as planned.
The report was carried in the daily Ilta Sanomat.
