All previously issued warnings have been cancelled.

The local Rescue Department had urged nearby residents to close their windows and to turn off air conditioners—and, if possible, to leave the area.

The fire broke out in an industrial warehouse in the Riihikallio district. The building, contained ammonia and refrigerant gases, was completely destroyed.

A cloud of smoke was seen heading toward Kerava. The danger zone extended about four kilometres north-east of the fire, including the villages of Sula and Uusikylä.
