Handicapped punk rockers rebel into limelight

A Finnish film about a group of mentally handicapped punk rockers is up for this year's Nordic Council Film Prize.

According to the film's producers, The Punk Syndrome, or Kovasikajuttu in Finnish, is about the essence of punk -- handicapped people rebelling against the mainstream.

"Directors Jukka Kärkkäinen and J-P Passi follow them on their journey from their rehearsal’s room into the limelight and festival stage, including their first tour in Germany," said the council of The Punk Syndrome.

The council selects the winner of the 47,000 euro prize next month.

The Punk Syndrome premiered in Finland in May.
