The fire broke out Monday afternoon at a facility about one kilometre from the port's main gate.
Fire fighters brought the blaze under control, ending the release of corrosive gas from sodium dithionite stored in the warehouse.
Sodium dithionite is a chemical compound used to bleach wood pulp used in the paper industry.
