Stockmann will make 110 people redundant from its warehouse operations, with 70 more jobs to go via early retirement or voluntary redundancy.

The company will also make some workers part-time and reduce hours among some staff already on part-time contracts in an effort to make annual savings of 10 million euros by 2015. The firm had initially said it was looking for 330 job cuts.

In the same statement, the company also announced the start of new lay-off talks aimed at reducing costs in administrative and support functions. These negotiations affect some 1,200 people, with 180 jobs on the chopping block.
