Moody's lowers Finland's economic outlook from stable to negative, triple-A credit rating holds

The international credit rating agency Moody's Investors Service on Friday revised its outlook on the Finnish economy from stable to negative, but reaffirmed the country's AAA credit rating.

In its overview, Moody's stated that among the factors leading to the downgrading of the Finland's economic outlook were an expectation of low economic growth following subdued productivity growth and the weakening of the country's export performance in recent years.

The two other leading credit agencies, Standard & Poor's and Fitch, released their latest evaluations of Finland's economic prospects in March. At that time, Finland retained the AA+ Standard & Poor's announced last autumn. Fitch continues to give Finland an AAA- rating, but it has lowered its outlook to negative.
