Finland's Midsummer traffic has begun with several crashes. Finnish national road 3 at Janakkala saw two fender benders within the space of a few hours, while a third crash was reported in Hämeenlinna.

Police say that a total of about twenty cars were involved in the crashes. No serious injuries were sustained, though several vehicles were damaged. The accidents halted traffic on the motorway for a full hour between 3.30 pm and 4.30 pm. Police redirected traffic past the accident locations onto road 130.

The northbound motorway was cleared and reopened in Janakkala after 4.30 pm.
