After a patchy beginning, next week's weather is shaping up to be mostly warm in much of the country. A slow high pressure front will raise temperatures to up or around 20 degrees Celsius beginning Wednesday at latest.
Had this same phenomenon occurred in the middle of summer, meteorologists say, this year's much-awaited 25-or-higher mark would have been broken easily.
Warm spells in autumn are not uncommon, with fluctuations of up to 5 degrees Celsius from the norm.
Warm days and long nights next week may cause heavy fog, which the low-shining sun cannot dispel.
