The food safety watchdog Evira said Friday that consumers might encounter shrimp in packages of the S Group’s Rainbow brand frozen strawberries. The lot has a best before date of 18.12.2016.

The lot of Belgian-packed frozen berries has been recalled from supermarket shelves at all of the S Group’s food retail outlets throughout the country including Prisma, S-market, Alepa, ABC-market and Sale.

The product poses no general health risks, but the shrimp may cause harmful reactions in persons sensitive or allergic to shellfish, S Group said. Consumers with known allergies are therefore being advised to dispose of the product.  They may also return the empty packaging to the point of purchase for a full refund.
