Warnings issued for snowy, slushy, slippery roads

Due to the spate of snow over the weekend, driving conditions are dangerous in the southern regions of Uusimaa and Kymenlaakso on Sunday, according to the Finnish Meteorological Institute. Apart from the very northern part of Lapland, driving conditions are potentially dangerous across the entire country.

Warnings for dangerous road conditions were issued by the Finnish Meteorological Institute in the southern regions of Uusimaa and Kymenlaakso on Sunday.

Heavy snow will also likely make driving difficult in most of the rest of the country.

The weather agency says the snowy weather is causing poor visibility and slippery roads for drivers.

FMI also issued warnings for hard winds in virtually all sea areas.

Hard wind warnings were issued for the Gulf of Finland, the Eastern part of Northern Baltic, the Sea of Archipelago and Gulf of Bothnia, with south to southeast near-gale force winds of 15 meters per second.
