Summer’s hottest temperature recorded in Utsjoki

Just after 2 pm on Saturday, the Kevo weather station in Finland’s northernmost municipality Utsjoki tweeted this summer’s record high temperature for the country: +29.1 degrees Celsius.

Located in Lapland, Utsjoki broke the record for this summer’s highest temperature to date with a reading of +29.1 Celsius.

The warm weather is set to continue throughout the country.

In northern regions, it will be sunny and warm, with temperatures up to +30 degrees Celsius. Along the West Coast the mercury will stay above +25 degrees Celsius.

Thunderstorms are in store for late Saturday afternoon and early evening, as are heavy rain showers on Sunday for western and central regions.
