The Finnish Air Force is sending a dozen F/A-18 Hornet multi-role fighters and around 250 airmen to Norway for the Nordic Response 24 exercise, which starts next week.
The main objective of the drills, which are being held on 4-15 March, is developing "the ability to plan and execute multinational air operations in the north as part of joint Nato operations," an Air Force press release said.
Nordic Response 24 is the FDF's most important drill of the year, according to the Air Force.
Starting on Monday, the drills will take place daily between 10am and 11pm local time, over northern areas of Norway, Sweden and Finland.
More than 100 aircraft from Finland, Sweden, Norway and other Nato nations are taking part in the drills, which involve fighter jets, air refuelling tankers, transport and surveillance planes, as well as various helicopters, according to the release.
