The Finnish fast food firm Hesburger has opened a home delivery kitchen in the Polish capital, Warsaw. This service point employs eight workers, according to a company press release.
With no customer seating, the service point, dubbed Hesburger Warsaw Cookcity, only caters to customers via food couriers.
Apart from numerous outlets in Finland, Hesburger also operates in countries nearby Poland, including Lithuania, Germany and Ukraine.
"We will continue our strong expansion in Poland as well as in other countries this year. The number of restaurants will increase the most in Bulgaria," said Ieva Salmela, Hesburger's marketing director.
Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Hesburger drew criticism for what some described as a slow withdrawal from Belarus and Russia.
In 2018, the company said it had pulled out of Iran, closing its franchise in Tehran, citing uncertainty brought about by international sanctions.
Hesburger operates a total of 273 restaurants in Finland.
