Finland is set for a warm and sunny weekend, as the first week of the autumn break comes to an end.
Over the weekend, it will be cloudier with light showers in northern areas of the country, with some clouds in the sky also expected in the south, according to Yle meteorologist Elias Paakkanen.
However, the precipitation up north should be very light, according to the forecast.
Given the time of year, it will be relatively warm in central and southern areas of the country, with temperatures mostly above 10 degrees Celsius and reaching up to 14 degrees. Generally, temperatures hover around eight degrees in mid-October.
The damp and overcast conditions in the north will make it feel cooler, but temperatures are still expected to exceed five degrees Celsius in northern Lapland, while southern parts of the region could see the temperature reach ten degrees.
The milder weather is caused by a high pressure system over southeastern areas of the country, effectively allowing warmer air from the south and south-west to reach the country, according to Paakanen.
