Mari Rantanen (Finns) has announced she is returning to her Minister of the Interior post ahead of schedule, after taking a leave of absence at the beginning of September.
Rantanen temporarily left the post on 1 September to care for her ill daughter, who is in her late 20s and has severe disabilities.
Rantanen was originally scheduled to return at the beginning of next year. However, she announced on Monday that she would be back on the job on 8 November.
"My daughter who was seriously ill has recovered faster than expected," Rantanen said.
During Rantanen's absence, Lulu Ranne (Finns) took on the interior minister's portfolio alongside her responsibilities as transport and communications minister.
