As usual my idle thoughts have turned into another fic.
Saturday
“What are you doing Saturday?” he asks, even though Evan has been not-quite-yelling at him while Tommy tries to fly a fucking helicopter. He’s been going for almost four minutes straight. Tommy’s pretty certain he’s listing off the things he never told Tommy he was pissed off about in reverse sequential order from “Thanks, it was fun.” back. He’s barely past “Basketball tickets, Tommy? Basketball? In six months, I played basketball badly with you once and then spent every Lakers game we watched elbow deep in a subreddit about moths or something!”
Evan pauses. Blinks at the question. It’s the first moment Tommy’s been able to hear the rotors working in at least nine and a half minutes, back before he started to argue back.
“I’m free,” he says, and Tommy thinks of the first time he’d ever asked, nerves propelling him out the door with finger guns, the tapping foot all the way down the elevator while he ran the words back and forth in his head over and over again, the way he kept randomly smiling the entire drive home to grab his work bag. So you’re free, he’d asked, and he hadn’t understood the significance of Evan’s response until days later, until he’d done his first of many runners, how I am free, meant so much more than available for dinner and a movie on Saturday at 8.

“Happy Anniversary,” Evan whispers softly as he presses delicate kisses along Tommy’s jawline. They’re tangled together underneath sheets; not knowing where one ended and the other began. Tommy lets out a content hum at the feeling of Evan’s mouth finding its place at the hinge of his jaw.
“Anniversary? Baby, we have only been back together for a few weeks.” Tommy replies as he wraps his arms around Evan’s waist, his hands pressing into the small of his back to bring him closer to his chest. The feeling of Evan laughing vibrates through his skin. He pushes Tommy so he is flat on his back, taking the opportunity to straddle over his hips.
“Not that anniversary,” Evan ducks his head and presses another kiss on Tommy’s cheek.
“It’s one year since the first time you kissed me.” He shifts slightly again and presses another kiss onto the bridge of Tommy’s nose.
“One year since you flipped my world upside down.” He kisses softly over Tommy’s eyelids.
Tommy allows himself to indulge for a moment, at the feeling of love and affection that was surrounding him; let it consume him completely. He then flips them until Evan is on his back, Tommy’s arms planting either side of Evan’s face.
“Sweetheart, I would kiss you forever if I could.” He says before slotting their lips together; kissing Evan deep and sweet and firm.
the way sesame street, a pbs puppet show for literal babies, is pressing on with pride content despite vitriolic monsters descending on every post to insinuate they’re pedophiles or demons while some of the biggest companies on the planet who could swim in olympic swimming pools of money like scrooge mcduck on steroids buckle and cave just emphasizes how completely and utterly pathetic these corporations are. they’d butcher a baby if it meant saving a penny.

Jim Henson supported his openly queer colleagues in the 1970s! The Muppet performer Richard Hunt was majorly influential on Sesame Street, the Muppet Show, and Fraggle Rock.
They also dumped Chick-fil-A in 2012 when CFA made their stance on gay marriage known.
It would be a dishonor to their memories for the Jim Henson Company to kowtow to queerphobic demands when their namesake always stood for diversity and acceptance of everyone, and it makes me proud to be a Muppet fan to see that insisted upon 💖🌈
I have a controversial opinion 🗣️ I love found family just as much as the next depressed bitch but!!! I think the 911 fandom takes it too far sometimes 😅
