Yuko Araki, a multi-instrumentalist and composer based in Tokyo, explores a wide range of musical endeavors. Initially drawn to the piano as a child, her teenage years saw her captivated byhardcore and metal music. However, her musical palette expanded significantly as she delved into various projects, including becoming the drummer of the tribal prog rock band Kuunatic . Araki’s solo project is where her creativity truly flourishes. Through modular synthesis, she crafts abstract rhythms and dissonant harmonies, seamlessly blending elements of noise drone and industrial genres into her compositions. Her exceptional sensitivity in processing heavy and dense sounds results in a sonic landscape unlike anything else you’ve heard before: it’s as if a thousand leaves oscillate simultaneously, rooted in Japanese noise yet entirely distinct. Her music transports listeners into intergalactic noisescapes. In 2019, Araki released the EP “I” under the Indonesian label Gerpfast Records, followed by “II” under the Italian label Commando Vanessa. Her debut full-length album, “End Of Trilogy’’ released in 2021. “Ⅳ,” released in 2023 under Room40, focused on creating noise music devoid of unnecessary clutter. It included a track featuring vocals from Taichi Nagura of Japanese band Endon, Additionally, she curated a Remix EP titled “IV X VI (Re​:​visions),” which showcased collaborations with a diverse range of artists. Contributors included Jonathan Snipes of clipping., extreme dark metal band Portal, Lawrence English, Nick Klein, as well as Japanese producers Scotch Rolex and Golpe Mortal. Araki’s performances have taken her across Europe, the UK, and Asia, including appearances at prestigious festivals such as Skaņu Mežs festival in Latviaand Jogja Noise Bombing in Indonesia. Notably, she collaborated with London-based visual artist Daisy Dickinson on an A/V performance during a European tour in Fall 2021.

東京を拠点に活動するマルチインストゥルメンタリスト／コンポーザー。幼少期からピアノを弾き始め、10代の頃よりハードコアやメタルミュージックに影響を受けていたが、近年は折衷主義的な多種多様のプロジェクトを持ち、トライバルプログロックバンド “Kuunatic"のドラマーでもある。ソロプロジェクトでは、モジュラーシンセサイザーでアブストラクトなリズムと不協和音のハーモニーを生み出し、ノイズドローンやインダストリアルミュージックなどの要素を含んだ実験的な電子音楽を演出している。 エクストリームでヘビーな高密度の音を操る彼女の卓越した感性は、これまで耳にしたことがないような音楽を生み出し、その万葉の発信音は、日本のノイズミュージックに根ざしていると同時に、それとは全くかけ離れた銀河を彷彿とさせるノイズである。 2019年にEP “I” をインドネシアのGerpfast recordから、"Ⅱ"をイタリアのCommando Vanessaよりリリース。2021年にLawrence English主催・オーストラリアの実験音楽レーベルRoom40より、フルアルバム"End Of Trilogy"を発表。2023年には「不必要なノイズを極限まで削ぎ落したノイズ」をテーマにした”Ⅳ”をリリースした。同アルバムにはEndonの名倉太一がゲストボーカルとして参加している。その後clipping.のトラックメイカーJonathan Snipesや暗黒メタルバンドPortal、日本人プロデューサーGolpe MortalやScotch Rolexlなどが手がけたRemix EP “IV X VI (Re​:​visions)” を発表するなど、幅広い音楽性で注目を集める。 国内外問わずライブ公演をしており、数週間に渡るヨーロッパ/UKツアーなども行っている。過去にはRussell Haswell、Space Afrika、cliping.、MayhemのフロントマンAttila Csiharなどと共演。英在住のVisual artist Daisy Dickinsonとコラボレーションしオーディオビジュアルセットでのパフォーマンスもしている。
