I wanted this project to be as budget friendly as possible and without damaging the drywall (incase we move- I didn't use wood glue, but I recommend using it for a stronger hold). If you love this cute faux shiplap wall just as much as I do, follow these simple DIY steps below to create a nice modern or farmhouse feel to any room in your home!

Amelia | Home Decor & DIY on Instagram: "I love vertical Shiplap and I wanted to install it in our back hallway.
NOTE: someone told me that vertical shiplap is board and batten…No! Vertical shiplap is vertical shiplap. Board and batten is something entirely different.

1. Since we have 9 ft ceilings we purchased the 12’ boards and cut to size
2. Working around outlets and
Tricky corners but we finally got it!
3. Horizontal shiplap is easier to install because you are always anchoring it to the studs.
4. Vertical shiplap needs some type of strip to attach your ship lap to for install. Or you can use liquid nails.
5. We opted for this method but the downfall…if you ever want to remove it you will have to replace your drywall

What do you think? I know that I love it.
