This house was built in Gallipolis Ohio. Local tradition has it that a local tradesman purchased the house and had it floated down the Ohio to the new town of Guyandotte in 1810. It served as an Inn from time to time. A local story holds that when the railroad builder Collis P Huntington came to town surveying for his new C&O Railroad he stayed at this Inn. While there, his horse broke it's tether and walked down the wooden sidewalks. The City Fathers fined Huntington for this infraction…
