The University of Central Oklahoma hopes to build off last year’s record participation in the UCO Endeavor Games, the nation’s largest multi-sport, multi-disability event, as preparations are finalized for this year’s event June 11-14 in Edmond.

This means that education should be accessible to all students, especially those with disabilities, and one aspect of accessibility is the physical building. Schools should have ramps, braille signage, push-button doors, desks fit for wheelchair users, etc., as well as transportation that accommodates people with disabilities. Why not start with disability advocate Judy Huemann? Huemann died about a year ago, but during her life she became known as “The mother of the disability rights movement” and was a compassionate educator and power behind the inclusion of disability rights in international development. #internationalwomensday...
