I am so STUPID lucky that my house is still standing. The fire started so close I can see the fire start point from my backyard. Both the front and backyard are burnt to shit.
I live in an area that will be very dangerous going into the future. I spent the past week experiencing the world as an evacuee… I even had to evacuate multiple times in a row. I became extremely ill from smoke, and tired from carrying water for blocks.
The truth to the fires is so much more horrible than arson could ever be. Let it be known, no place on this Earth will be safe from the horrors of climate change.
Hey if anyone has aid recommendations for those affected by the Los Angeles fires, could you reply or reblog this post with them?
Worst case scenario: I’ve lost everything including my home and all of my stuff. Best case scenario: my home is okay, but I’ll still be homeless again for a while because many houses on my street have definitely burned. Even in the best case, the smoke cleaning will be extensive.
I’m applying to whatever I can since I know I’m one of hundreds of thousands.

remember to help your unhoused neighbors this winter! Wooden pallets, tents, hand warmers and coats are a big help, but remember to check in with local organizers in your area fighting for the rights of the homeless!
Hi all! A bit last minute, but I will be reading tonight at the book opening for Lonnie Garcia’s graphic novel, “Putty Pygmalion” in Los Angeles, California!
I will be reading a best-of compilation of “Secondhand Soup”, including a brand new comic featuring the Soup gang!
I’ll also have some books and comics for sale, so please turn out! :)
