Hyrule is saved. Zelda returns to the castle and Link returns to Ordon. But after everything, they find settling back in is hard to do. On a whim, they begin writing letters to each other. (Set after the end of the game and before the last scene where Link rides away from Ordon.)

They all know the rumors. A witch lives in the woods. The King wants this witch killed, but Link doesn't believe in superstitions.

They were camped at the edge of the forbidden woods. A place of darkness, mystery, and magic. If you believed the tales, at least.

Many weeks ago, Link had been asked by the King of Hyrule to venture into these woods and kill the supposed witch that lived there. Link doesn't believe the witch even exists and only consented to go to prove there was no witch.
