Welcome to TMiF’s homebrew world of Ulei'Var~
On the continent of Auscives, in the northern hemisphere of Ulei'Var, the country of Greymoor has seen her king fall at the hands of her Crown Prince. Unrest and necromantic magic ripples from the capital, Iron Pinnacle Keep in Vilimond, on the eastern shore. The new King, Edmund Morvaine, has his sights set on raising sleepy Greymoor to new heights of conquest on the backs of her people.
After the celebration in their honor tired them all out, the local heroes returned home for a good long rest. A few friendly reassuring sentiments were passed between some of them, as well.
The next morning brought a summons to Marius, however, calling him to the fronts by his sellsword company. The parting is bittersweet, with hopes that they’ll reunite again.
Afterward, Edwin and Boffin went to the library at the arcane college. Boffin sought answers concerning Quint, the Fifth, in what capacity could be gained. Edwin, however, needed to let off steam; once Boffin’s queries were addressed, he went off to a practice room and began hurling spells, channeling so much raw power he fell unconscious…

With hesitation but driven forward all the same, and occasionally hearing Leilani’s voice, the band entered the belly of the beast, finding the cavern layered in thick nasty…. Whatever fleshlike material it is.
And all around them were pods. Similar to the ones back underneath the old elven village, but somehow seeming more developed. The buzzing hum grew louder, as did Leilani’s voice, and-
What IS that bulbous THING on the wall?! And it just laid an egg sac, from which emerged-… Leilani?!

Dawn of the final(?) day, the group had an incredible breakfast and set out for the swamp. Knowing that it was going to be a dangerous task, and remembering what lurked there…
Yet… Was that- Leilani’s voice? While some of the band heard disparaging remarks, others heard encouragement. Could it be that the swamp is but playing its tricks on them again? Or perhaps it was the Gulgarian Cortex, which lay in waiting at their destination, lancing Felfyre’s mind just as she received a message from home, before launching its assault on them.
As hard as the Cortex tried to kill them all with its buglins and bone snails, the party refused to trade Ortet for its “shiny”, and its last mistake - swallowing the hellfire-imbued Warden - erupted from within with fiery Revelation, splattering the Cortex across the trees it once perched in.
One way to go from here… Follow the band into the Gulgarian hive tonight at 9pm Central/10pm Eastern!

After Velanna and Kai had gone off to speak between themselves, asking each other not to be reckless, Felfyre spoke with Ortet, picking up that the poor changeling felt mistrusted. She apologized for hurting him with her earlier ponderings. That he felt Findrel was the only one he could trust, who believes Ortet is alive. That he’s himself. But who else could he be?
It’s Findrel’s words and actions that help put the anxious changeling’s fears to ease, at least for the night. Ortet is Findrel’s first friend, and whatever the obstacle, they’ll face it together.

Trickster’s Day is spent preparing to attend the heroes’ celebration being thrown in honor of the ragtag group from Gatewatch. And that night, the heroes are whisked off to The Verandah, the swankiest party restaurant in Tol'Dorom, and received with honors and praise.
Vaeleryn’s royals personally addressed and thanked them, and Siegfried bestowed Knight Falke with her new rank of Lieutentant, and the trappings that come with it. And truly, a magnificent party ensued, with music, food, drink, and dancing galore.
Edwin, overwhelmed as he was, took a step back out of the proceedings for a bit with the aid of a college friend. The accolades have been named and bestowed, but this is far from the end of things for the former ragtag nobodies from Gatewatch.

Indeed it would seem that Kai and Felfyre’s hypotheses and hunches align in regards to the infestation plaguing Northvern Isle, as a conversation between the two revealed. As much as it hurts to think about for the Warden…
But there is some levity to be had, and future plans to consider. After all, despair cannot be allowed to triumph before the true battle even happens. There are a good many things worth fighting for!

What was learned from the corpse, from the journal, and from all they’ve experienced has put the eclectic little band into various states of discontent. Possibly even paranoia.
But Felfyre and Kai seem to share some theories, independently formed. But at the cost of a friend’s trust, as Felfyre insinuates that Ortet could be a clone(?) and accidentally nailing a small schism into their trio.

With Doran’s cat hanging out with them, the only thing to do is to take care of it until he comes to retrieve it.
The local heroes, previously told they were expected -at their leisure- at the Waterside Bathhouse, decided to take that offer up and were treated to a full spa day!
Afterwards, back home, Gael reminded everyone that it was Omen’s Eve, a raucous autumnal holiday whose celebration is to poke fun at the scary things in the world. Passing out treats to door-to-door gaggles of children and dressing up in costumes, having a good ol’ time despite the coming days.
Gael’s promotion, and the party in honor of the heroes, is soon~ Celebrate with the Risen War crew tonight at 9pm Central/10pm Eastern!
