IEEE 802.11
IEEE 802.11是IEEE 802標準委員會(IEEE 802 LAN/MAN Standards Committee)下屬的無線區域網絡工作群組[1],也指代由該組織制定的無線區域網絡標準。
該協定一般與IEEE 802.2結合使用,設計目的是為了與乙太網路無縫互通,經常用於承載IP流量。
雖然IEEE 802.11規範列出了可能使用的通道,但允許使用的無線電頻譜因監管領域不同而有很大的差異。
概述
編輯IEEE 802.11標準定義一個媒體訪問控制(MAC)和幾個實體層(PHY)規範,為局域內的固定,可攜式和抽取式終端(STA)提供無線連接,標準還為監管機構提供了一種標準化方法,對區域網絡通訊的一個或多個頻帶進行管理[2]。
現行標準
編輯IEEE 802標準文獻均收錄在IEEE Xplore數字圖書館(IEEE Xplore Digital Library),文獻印刷版和電子版分為不同的ISBN號,「GET 802(R) Standards」處的列表即為當前有效(Active)已批准(Approved)的標準,可以登入IEEE帳戶免費下載,被取代、復原的標準以及草案則需要付費購買[3]。
IEEE 802.11現行標準為2016年的修訂版(Revision)IEEE Std 802.11-2016 《第11部分:無線區域網絡媒介訪問控制(MAC)和實體層(PHY)規範》,共計正文22章和附件A—V(Annex A-V)22章,先前發佈的所有修訂已被取代(Superseded ),納入了2016年修訂版[4]。 2016年修訂版還有IEEE Std 802.11ai-2016 《規範修訂1:快速初始鏈路設置》,IEEE Std 802.11ah-2016 《規範修訂2:Sub 1 GHz免許可頻段運作》,IEEE Std 802.11aj-2018 《規範修訂3:增強了支援中國毫米波頻段(60 GHz和45 GHz)的超高吞吐量(VHT)》,IEEE Std 802.11ak-2018 《規範修訂4:橋接網絡中傳輸鏈路的增強》,IEEE Std 802.11aq-2018 《規範修訂5:預關聯發現》5份修正案(Amendment),這些修正案作為2016年修訂版的補充部分,或對原有章節的某個小節進行更改(Change)與插入(Insert)新的小節,或直接插入新章節,將標準擴充為正文25章和附件A—Y(Annex A-Y)25章.
從802.11工作群組官網公開的資訊來看,P802.11md專案自2017年發起,TGmd任務組負責累積維護,將現有5份修正案納入2016年修訂版,預期2020年內提交審批,屆時將取代現行標準。其它任務組(Task Group)也在活躍中,為802.11標準提供更多功能增強[5]。
