My creative space
Oh, how I've missed My Creative Space since it's been on holidays.
I'm a bit of a nosey parker, so I love to have a sneaky squizz into what everyone else is up to!

Gadget Pouch for Tinniegirl - Hand Screenprinted Bicycle fabric by Greenolive
WIP Brooches
Coloured Wire
Pliers
Hair Bits and Bobs
I headed to my local bead shop yesterday with the sole purpose of picking up some coloured wire, but I was somewhat distracted, and ended up coming home with hair clips and hair combs to play with.

A broochfest

I try to co-ordinate a brooch to my outfit every day, even if I'm just schlepping about the house. Brooches just seem to make me happy.

- 3rd Row - Flower by Greenolive, Owl by Hokey, Vintage Diamante Cluster bought from second hand shop in Clunes, INXS badge from the 80's gifted to me from Steph.
- Bottom Row - Necklace / Badge Combo by Lauren Williams, 3 vintage floral & 1 Pippijoe fabric badge from Starashan.
- Cluster of badges on the right hand side made by me at Brown Owls last year.

Greenolive Goodies

I've been meaning to show and tell this lovely mixed pack of Greenolive fabric that I received from Martine at the Stitches and Craft Show earlier this month.
I've been dreaming about little projects that I'm going to make with it.....

I want to make something for myself with the butterfly print... but I'm not quite sure what. I'm thinking a zippered purse, a handbag panel, a cushion cover, a covered canvas for the wall.... so many options!
All of these lovely fabrics are now available in the Greenolive Textiles Etsy Shop.

Back in the land of Blog

Every single room in the house is still a work in progress.
The craft space is nearly at a level where I could actually create something... imagine that!
The port-a-cot just needs to be moved to the spare bedroom, and there are a few more bits and pieces yet to find homes, but the whole place is starting to actually look liveable once more.
I am really behind on reading emails and blogs. Getting an internet connection was a real struggle because I don't need or want a home phone. I've ended up with an overpriced pre-paid Telstra wireless plan while I wait for Three wireless to be extended into my area..... but I just can't live without the internet, so there's a price that must be paid.
I might still be a little quiet over the next week or so while I continue to unpack and catch up on all my favourite bloggers.
I did manage to make it to the Stitches and Craft show on Saturday and catch up with Cathy, Nikki, Liz, Fi, Justine, and Jenny, and I finally had the chance to meet Martine and Michelle and Johanna which was lovely. I hope I didn't miss anyone. I wanted to go and say hi to Louise and Cathy from Audrey and Maude but they were surrounded by customers. I also missed Jodie and Michelle who were over in the the other building when I visited... drats.
I have some photos on my mobile phone, but do you think I can actually find the usb cable to download them???

Stitches and Craft Volunteers

The Craft Bar is a fun, free place where crafters can go and have fun with papercraft, sewing, knitting or embroidery. There are several crafty dishes on the menu, all you have to do is choose one.
The volunteers (that's you) will be at the Craft Bar showing people how to do so some of the stitching projects.
As a volunteer, here's what's involved:
• working at the show for free, each day from 8.30am to 5pm
• free entry to the show
• lots of fun, the chance to meet people and share your passion for crafting
• small perks (not sure what this entails, but its sure to be great!)
So if you are crafty, have free time during the days the Show is on, and you would like to help out, contact Angela: angela.gualtieri[at]livingcreatively.com.au

A call for help

If you were lucky enough to get your hands on a greenolive textiles not-quite-fat quarter, what would you make?
I say not-quite-fat quarter because these original hand-printed designs measure 35 x 45 cm, a smidge less than a traditional fat quarter (35 x45 cm = 13.7 x 17.7 inches for those of you who aren't metric).
I'm thinking softies, tote bags, cushions, small quilts, notebook covers, zippered purses...
The best bit is that you can win a 'not so fat quarter' of your very own!
Head on over to this post and leave a comment to be in the draw.

Greenolive Goodness

A beautiful merino wool custom handknitted scarf from Martine at Greenolive.....
Amongst all the chaos of packing up and moving house, Martine still managed to let me choose the wool in the exact colour that I wanted and then she knitted it up and popped it in the post!
Then to my suprise, there was an extra little goodie in the package! A gorgeous felt flower brooch in a matching colour.....
Checkout Martine's Greenolive Etsy Shop for more scarves, beaded necklaces and flowers......
Thankyou so much Martine, it's absolutely gorgeous!
