The Monument to the Battle of the Nations stands at a height of 91 meters making it the tallest monument in Germany. It commemorates the Battle of Leipzig and the victorious war of liberation against Napoleon Bonaparte in October 1813. The city’s parish church St. Nicholas, named after the holy St. Nicholas is a must-see when your bus arrives to Leipzig. After receiving the city and marketing rights in 1165 the construction of the church in its notable Romanesque style began.
