Fun Twin Story
So the girls have done cute things over time, but this is one that I'm going to take a moment to share... Kimberly is becoming very fond of climbing up onto our couch (her actually being able to do it is new this week) and she was attempting to do it this morning, but was still in her pajamas. With the footed PJs she couldn't quite get the traction from throwing her foot up onto the couch cushions like she usually does. She tried quite a few times and started to get frustrated when Bekah came over and starting patting Kimberly on the back. Kimberly immediately stopped fussing and just stood there letting Bekah pat her back, and Bekah was very happy with herself for comforting Kimberly. Now they're back to trying to force each other to share their sippy cups of water as usual.

December Update
The girls are still happy as can be. Bekah RUNS now, not fast walking, not jogging.. she's a RUNNER. Which is fine when we're in the house, but it will be interesting when they get outside more (when it's not freezing out there). We're getting ready for the holidays, we got our tree up a while ago, but finally got our stockings all up today. The tree is behind one of our baby gates and the girls notice that it's there, but other than that don't really try to grab it or anything.

Snow Pictures!
I realized I didn't take many pictures of the girls in their first snow of the year because I was trying to get videos of them with the snow falling. Kimberly was more adventurous when it first started and Bekah just stood trying to figure out what was going on. So here's a few snow photos. We started out just in our backyard when it was first coming down, and then moved to the neighborhood park after it had accumulated a bit. Kimberly is in the purple, Bekah in the pink for the first two. In the last photo, it's Kimberly on the left in the dark pink pants and Rebekah on the right in the yellow coat. Kelsi's down the hill to the far right with her sled. Enjoy the video, too!

15 months!
As of yesterday, the girls are officially 15 months old. Which means today when they had their check-up, they got the last of their immunizations until they're ready for kindergarten! Yippee!
Rebekah is just over 50th percentile for height and just under for weight with a 30 1/4 inch height and tipping the scales at 23 pounds. Her head circumference is still off the charts (well over 99th %-ile). Kimberly is just over 50th %-ile for her height of 30 1/2 inches and just under 50th for weight at 22.2 pounds. Her head circumference is just about 99th %-ile for their age. You really can't tell the difference in size by casually looking at them; the biggest difference we notice is in the weights.
They're having a grand old time being toddlers: Kimberly says "yum" and Bekah says "kick". Kimberly is having a lot of fun playing her own game of soccer... she kicks the ball all around the house. Bekah is more of "goalie" at this point, since she just bends over and picks the ball up with her hands. But they certainly know a lot of words and can understand a lot of what we ask/tell them.
Pictures soon.. we've had the first snow of the season and they had a chance to go walk around in it while it was falling.

Walking and Dancing Videos
Here's my first attempt at posting videos.. The first one is of them walking and the other is of Bekah doing her dancing. She dances standing up, too, but I haven't had the camera ready when she does. It's pretty cute and they both definitely know when you ask them to dance what it means. Rebekah started it, we just gave them the name of what they were doing. We'll turn on music and they'll dance, walk around a bit, then stop and dance some more. We're constantly laughing at and with them. Such happy girls!! (The second video may appear to be a black screen, but hit play and it'll show up).
We're a minivan family now!
As of today, we're part of the minivan brigade! We bought a used Honda Odyssey and so far the girls LOVE it. I think the biggest part of that is because we were finally able to switch them to forward facing car seats and that was a big thrill. They giggle the whole ride now. Here's some rainy photos of the new car seats. For now we have them in the 2nd row captains chairs, we'll see if we end up sending them to the rear row in the future. P.S. Know anyone who's looking for a used Ford Explorer? LOL

Playing Catch-up - October
October photos! Kimberly's pouty face, Bekah's tongue, Kimberly showing me how she can run away, but then also run back, Bekah the mechanic working on the bottom of the walker, Kimberly crowning Bekah with the teething ring, and the girls eating.. Bekah with the fun hairdo and Kimberly "Oh!"
Playing Catch-up - September
Okay.. I'm trying to do a quick update since it's been a long time (though it really doesn't seem like it around here!) First.. Daddy & the girls modeling their new backpack carrier, Kimberly, Rebekah, and wearing their new warm & fuzzy REI hats, Meema got to come visit!, and Bekah walking around.

New Toys!
Aunt Vikki sent them a walker-to-wagon toy. It starts out as they are modeling it below, and then when they're older, it will convert to a wagon.
Kimberly is up to 9 steps now and Rebekah got to 15! (Not using the walker -- with it, they walk way more than that!). You can see Kimberly's shadow in the photo of Rebekah. Kimberly got to push the new monkey that Uncle Jimmy got them, too!

12-month checkup
Okay, so three posts in two days... that better keep you all happy for a little while!
They had their big 1-year checkup this morning. They're both doing really well. Still progressing on the height and weight charts -- they're higher percentiles now, much closer to where they were at three months before the GERD took them backwards.
Rebekah: 28.5 inches (25th %-ile), 18lbs 13oz (10th-25th), head circumference 18.8" (>97th - off the chart!)
Kimberly: 28.75 inches (50th %-ile), 18lbs 14 oz (10th-25th), HC 18.5" (90th)
Kimberly: 28.75 inches (50th %-ile), 18lbs 14 oz (10th-25th), HC 18.5" (90th)
They are officially three times their birth weight at age one, so they're doing good! We still can't face them forward in their carseats until they're 20 pounds, so we'll see when we get to that milestone.
And a few more photos with them in their Husky basketball uniforms. These were at the party, after being cleaned up from their cupcake extravaganza! Kimberly's just in the jersey and Bekah is modeling the warm-up jacket as she runs out the door.

Birthday Bike Ride
Yesterday was party time & today it was time for their first bike ride!! In their pajamas checking out their new helmets from Mom & Dad, in their new sweatsuits getting ready to go, in their bike trailer, Kimberly with "helmet head" after the ride, and the girls playing with their wrapping paper. Sorry there are no photos from the ride, but they weren't too thrilled with having the helmets on and the bike standing still. All 5 of us went around the neighborhood park and both Marty and I got a chance to pull them behind the bike.

Happy 1st Birthday!
We made it! Year one with twins has now successfully come to an end. Rebekah is up to 10 steps, and Kimberly (who started walking right after my last post) is up to 6 steps at a time now. They had their birthday party yesterday with over 40 guests (plus the 5 of us!) with decorate your own cupcakes followed by Kimberly and Rebekah getting their first taste of pure sugar and having their own cupcakes. Rebekah is in blue ("Bekah in Blue") and Kimberly is in the pink. Thanks to Bryan Plog for some of the party photos below.
