The crappy parts of Easter...
We sure did start off Easter morning with a BANG! Penny fell of our bed while I was brushing my teeth. She ended up throwing up. Called my mom to ask what I should do (really what would I do if I was left to raise my kids alone?). She said to play it safe and take her to the ER. So parents came to get to grace. I packed up her Easter dress, her basket, eggs for hiding, and then headed to the ER with penny. Spencer was just driving home from work, so he met me down there. Penny started throwing up again. She was really fussy and kept falling asleep!
They did a head CT to play it safe. Everything came back fine. After about 4 hours we came back home.
Meanwhile grace started to run a fever. Her throat hurt, and she threw up!
Spencer went home to go to sleep. While I went to my parents to get grace. Well penny went straight asleep in my moms arms, and grace and I fell asleep cuddling. When penny woke up she would move her neck, and was really "rag doll" like. So we decided to take her back in. Grace was still super sick. But I felt like penny was acting really abnormal. So away to the ER we went again. They did an x ray an a next CT. Everything was fine and 6 hours later we came back home. NO ONE slept that night. Next day we all headed to the doctors. Penny was fine, but her neck was still sore. Grace had strep throat. We are all doing much better now.
So thankful for insurance, a hospital, my parents, and our great doctor Dr Mike!

4. Her face when I asked her how excited she was about Easter!
5. Their baskets! Which, in hind sight I spent WAY to much money on! Crap...
6. My beauties
7. Grace wait patiently.
8. Eggs!
9. Grace thought coloring eggs was the greatest!

Knowledge
Dear Posterity:
I crave knowledge! I mean seriously. I want to learn things, all kinds of things.
It all started when we watched "midnight in Paris" on New Years Eve. All those artists, and writers. I hardly know about them. How come I'm not reading Hemingway? Fitzgerald? Why am I not reading biographies?
Then we watched Sherlock Homes! Why don't I take a class about Graphology? I want to learn how to fight!
I want to travel! I want to tour Europe. Just strap Penny to my body and travel! I want to study interesting things.
I want to learn more about the art of natural healing.
I am almost certain that I had this same problem when Grace was a baby. Blame it on hormones, blame it on being trapped in my dirty house? But I want KNOWLEDGE, and I am itching to get some!
Love,
Cabin crazy mom

Crappy crap crap....
Dear Posterity:
Spencer has been sick for...longer than 2 weeks. Not sure I am a reliable source as far as time goes. I basically take it one day at a time these days.
So spencer is sick, fever, body aches, chills, sweating, no energy. You know, the basic crap! No big deal, well not in till it has been going on for longer than 2 weeks. AND the two girls have coughs. And are up all night. AND Spencer is up all night needing new medication, and water, and sweating. AND I have a head cold. Crap crap crap!
So basically I am in pj's, laying in bed watching parenthood with Spencer and Penny. She is chewing on some wrappers. My mom took Grace. LOVE HER!!!
Gotta love winter time when everyone is sick.
Love
Mom taking sudafed and Afrin!!!!

Miracle
Dear Posterity:
It is 2am. Penny woke up about an hour ago. I took her out to the front room and started to rock her/nurse her. This is unusual because normally I sleep walk to her crib, pick her up, sleep walk back to be and nurse her while I slip in and out of sleep.
I guess tonight I wanted to enjoy her some more. So I snuggled her up, and stared at her sweet face. It was kinda great. Then she finished eating, and started to babble. Usually I want to die when this happens. Because it means that she is awake! And when it's 1 am I don't particularly like her being awake. But tonight my heart was gushy, and I sorta liked it. But only for 10 mins....then I wanted to sleep. So I put her in her crib. See usually ( yes this happens a lot) I just lay her down. Shut her door, shut mine. Turn my bathroom fan on to drown out the sound if her screaming. She will usually cry till morning. Yes people....morning. It's awful, but seriously....This is what happens when your children hate sleep, and you don't .
Anyways, back to tonight. So I lay her down. No crying. I shut her door....no crying. I shut mine....no crying! I am laying here in bed, a whole hour later....no EFFING crying. I'm tempted to check and make sure shes alive. But what if I go in, and she is awake, and sees me? Then all hell with break lose. So instead in lay here enjoying silence!
It's a day after Christmas miracle! One that I'll look back on for years.
Love,
Momma that is a little too excited by sleep
PS: if there were an Olympics for moms, I would have won today. I took both girls to mills mall to return some stuff. Upon arrival, it came to my attention that I had no stroller ( in other car). Penny was asleep ( of all the times to be a good sleeper), no sling ( in other car). So I carried penny, and grace held onto my bad. I pushed a shopping cart with one hand, and had some nice lady help Grace into the cart. I found two lamps, and two big baskets. Got them to the register. Paid. Carried penny, and 4 big bags. While having Graces hand on my bag. To my car. Which was parked far away. I avoided a melt down by grace when she wanted a pretzel. As far as I'm concerned I freaking rock!

Christmas Eve
Dear Posterity:
Grandma Pitts puts on a great Christmas Eve party.
Lots of finger foods. A talent show. Grace not only sang in the group " Santa clause is coming to town", but also danced to Suzy snowflake!
Then the classic nativity play. Complete with songs and the cutesy camel there ever was.
Grandma and Grandpa always had the best presents. It is so much fun to watch all the kids open their gifts! Te room is crazy after everyone gets theirs. I love it.
After that we came home and put the kiddie's to bed!!!! Yeah, to bad we didn't have any cookies. Oh well, maybe next year I'll pull together some traditions? In till then. I think this year was just lovely.
Love,
Someone that married into a good family
P's: penny let jan hold her WHILE I was sitting next to them? Wow, had to take a picture just to remember the moment!
PSS: grace had some seriously pumpers butt!
