É claro que tudo isto é alegadamente! Agora imaginem esse deputado, defensor da lei e da ordem, a ser constituído arguido por alegadamente ter sido apanhado a furtar malas no tapete das bagagens nos aeroportos de Lisboa e Ponta Delgada. E, não, não se tratou de uma confusão de malas, porque em casa deste deputado foram encontradas 17 malas de viagem.

Agora o mais assustador não é este deputado se ter revelado ser um pilha galinhas, um amador que nem evitou as câmaras de videovigilância do aeroporto. O que me tira o sono são aqueles deputados muito bem vestidos, mas que carregam "malas" cheias de negócios! Deputados que têm participação em escritórios de advogados e que depois vão legislar para o Parlamento, não em favor do interesse nacional, mas das empresas que defendem nos bastidores. Esses não são apanhados em câmaras de videovigilância, mas o estrago que fazem ao país é infinitamente maior!

However, the reality of the weather can be different depending on where you live. In my country, for example, March was anything but warm: it rained for almost the entire month and the temperatures were lower than usual for the season. Here, I can assure you that we didn't feel that record heat! As I love to inspire you with looks, I realized that I've only been showing you looks for sunny days, so I have to start thinking about inspiring you with stylish looks for rainy days. Hoje, enquanto conversava com a minha tia de 85 anos, ela desabafava sobre os seus problemas de saúde. Entre lamentos, disse-me que talvez merecesse tudo o que estava a passar. Foi então que lhe perguntei: "E eu tia? Eu mereço ter todas estas doenças que tenho? O que é que eu fiz para merecer isto?"
Today, while talking to my 85-year-old aunt, she was venting about her health problems. Between her regrets, she told me that perhaps she deserved everything she was going through. That's when I asked her: ‘What about me, auntie? Do I deserve to have all these illnesses I have? What have I done to deserve this?’
A verdade é que não se trata de merecer esta ou aquela doença. O corpo humano é como uma máquina - imperfeito, sujeito a falhas e defeitos que, muitas vezes, se manifestam sob a forma de doenças. Uns nascem com uma genética mais robusta, como um Mercedes que atravessa décadas sem problemas. Outros, por azar do destino, herdam um código genético mais frágil, como um Fiat que exige constantes reparações. É assim que funciona!
The truth is that it's not a question of deserving this or that illness. The human body is like a machine - imperfect, subject to faults and defects that often manifest themselves in the form of illnesses. Some are born with more robust genetics, like a Mercedes that goes through decades without any problems. Others, by fate, inherit a more fragile genetic code, like a Fiat that requires constant repairs. That's how it works!
O grande problema é que ainda há quem carregue uma culpa enraizada numa visão antiga da vida, uma mentalidade que nos foi imposta durante séculos pela matriz judaica-cristã em que fomos educados. A ideia de que sofremos porque merecemos, como uma espécie de punição divina, está ultrapassada. Se realmente houvesse uma justiça divina nesses termos, qual seria o castigo físico para os pedófilos, para os ditadores, assassinos, etc..
The big problem is that some people still carry guilt rooted in an ancient view of life, a mentality that was imposed on us for centuries by the Judeo-Christian matrix in which we were brought up. The idea that we suffer because we deserve to, as a kind of divine punishment, is outdated. If there really was such a thing as divine justice, what would be the physical punishment for paedophiles, dictators, murderers, etc.?
As sociedades modernas e, mesmo a igreja católica, já evoluíram o suficiente para se libertarem desse peso. Hoje, sabemos que doenças não são castigos, mas sim resultado de factores genéticos, ambientais e, muitas vezes, do simples acaso.
Modern societies, and even the Catholic Church, have evolved enough to free themselves from this burden. Today, we know that illnesses are not punishments, but the result of genetic and environmental factors and, often, simple randomness.
Por tudo isto é já tempo de deixarmos para trás esse fardo cultural e abraçarmos o conhecimento que nos permite compreender a vida de forma racional e justa. Afinal, a dor já é suficiente por si só, não precisamos de carregar ainda o peso de uma culpa (que não temos)!
That's why it's time to leave behind this cultural burden and embrace the knowledge that allows us to understand life rationally and fairly. After all, pain is enough on its own, we don't need to carry the weight of guilt (which we don't have)!
Olá, bem-vindos a mais um fabuloso post dos Looks da Semana! A novidade que tenho para vos dar esta semana, é algo que me assusta, aliás, acho que assusta todas as pessoas! Penso que ouviram falar da proposta da União Europeia para um kit de sobrevivência que todos os cidadãos devem ter preparado para enfrentar uma guerra, um desastre natural decorrente das alterações climáticas. Esse kit deve ser preparado para que as pessoas consigam sobreviver 72 horas sem intervenção externa. Deve conter, água, alimentos em conserva, medicamentos, cópia de documentos, rádio a pilhas, lanternas, produtos de higiene pessoal e algumas ferramentas básicas. Quem está preparado para uma coisa destas? Isto é assustador, porque a pouco e pouco os governantes estão a semear a semente da guerra, da catástrofe no nosso subconsciente, estão a normalizar o assunto, que vamos ter de ter consciência de que, mais cedo ou mais tarde, estaremos a viver em guerra. Eu recuso-me a normalizar este discurso! Prefiro normalizar a ideia, que todas as semanas teremos aqui no blog, 5 looks que vos inspirem, que vos transmitam boas energias e promovam a harmonia e a união entre os povos, conectados através do gosto pela moda! Kits? Só de roupa!!! Estão de acordo comigo?

I think you've heard about the European Union's proposal for a survival kit that all citizens should have ready to face a war or a natural disaster caused by climate change. This kit should be prepared so that people can survive for 72 hours without outside intervention. It should contain water, canned food, medicines, copies of documents, a battery-operated radio, flashlights, personal hygiene products and some basic tools. Who is prepared for something like this? This is frightening, because little by little the rulers are sowing the seeds of war, of catastrophe in our subconscious, they are normalizing the issue, that we will have to be aware that, sooner or later, we will be living in war. I refuse to normalize this discourse! In 2017, my survival kit consisted of dresses, because that's how I disguised my excess weight. As you can see, in this new styling, I had to wrap the excess fabric from my weight loss in a belt! It wasn't one of my favorite looks, but since I love taking these time-travel adventures, that explains why I chose this dress!
